                                                     Klepon

Klepon is one of Indonesia traditional foods. Klepon is a green-colored ball of rice cake filled with liquid palm sugar and coated in grated coconut. Why the color is green? It is because the dough is flavored and colored with pandan or suji leaves. 
The origin of Klepon is from Central Java. In other parts of Indonesia, such as Sulawesi and Sumatra, Klepon is known as Onde-onde. The dish is also called Klepon in Netherlands. Klepon was introduced by Indonesia immigrants to the Netherlands in 1950.
Klepon traditionally served in a banana leaf but nowadays, Klepon is packed in plastic wrappings. One must be careful on consuming Klepon. Because when you bite Klepon, the bite could squirted and the liquid palm sugar might stained your shirt.
